Traveling to Rome

Rome is a hot spot for culture, romance and short city breaks and if you’re thinking about going away, one of the first things that you should look into is how you’re going to get to Rome from the United Kingdom. Fortunately, you’ve got a lot of different options available to you in comparison to most other holiday destinations as Rome is reasonably close. However, when people have a choice, it can often make the decision a little bit more difficult on them to decide which type of travel is the best for their own particular needs. So, what are the most popular ways that people travel to Rome? Here are some of them:

  • Flights – The majority of people will fly to Rome since it’s what most people are used to doing when going on holiday. Rome is approximatly 850 miles away and takes just under 3 hours to travel by plane. We are all used to booking cheap flights online and going to the airport and so on so a lot of people just like sticking to what they’re used to. One of the benefits of using flights to travel to Rome is that you’ll have a choice whether to use low cost airlines or more expensive airlines so even if you’re on a budget you can still travel to Rome. There are also cheap flights to Rome from all over the UK so no matter where you live you shouldn’t be too far away from your nearest airport.

  • Car - This is quite a journey but many people travel through France and onto Italy where they will stop at Rome. It can take upto 3 or 4 days depending on how often you stop. People who have previously done it say the views are amazing, the roads are enjoyable and the place to stop off are gems. Things to consider when driving to Rome are the fuel costs, insurance/breakdown cover, entering different countries and travel accross the channel. If you do your research and have a plan in place, this could be the most exciting way to travel to Rome.
  • Trains – At present there isnt a direct train to Rome from the UK but with a bit of forward planning and a few change overs, a train journey to Rome can be relaxing and cost effective. You will be able to enjoy wonderful views of France and Italy while sitting comfortably knowing your in safe hands. Quicker than driving but not as direct as flying.

That’s just some of the ways that you can get to Rome next time you need to travel to Rome. You just need to decide which mode of transport you prefer and then use that, weigh up the advantages and the disadvantages of each and then make a decision as to which is the best for you.

Everyone is different, so only you can decide which the best is; some people would love getting a cheap flight to Rome while others would hate it! Lastly, we’d like to wish you the best of luck on your journey to Rome.
